This Privacy Policy explains how Cuepop (“Cuepop”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the website at cuepop.com and our related services (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described below. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please don’t use the Service.

1. Information we collect

a. Information you give us directly

• Account details — name, email, and profile photo, pulled from your Google account when you sign in with Google OAuth.
• Profile content — bio, city, skills, rate range, portfolio links, and any other details you add to your creator profile.
• Posts & messages — the needs you post, pitches you send, and messages you exchange with matches.
• Reviews & reports — ratings, review text, and any reports you file about other users or posts.

b. Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, timestamps, referring URLs.
• Device & log data — IP address, browser, operating system, device identifiers.
• Location — approximate city derived from your IP address, used to show locally relevant creators and opportunities. This is not precise GPS location and is never shared without your action.
• Cookies — essential cookies to keep you signed in (session cookies set by our authentication provider).

2. How we use your information

• Operate the Service — matching creators, delivering messages, enabling pitches and reviews.
• Personalize the experience — showing creators and opportunities relevant to your city and skills.
• Communicate with you — transactional emails (account approval, new pitches, new messages, new reviews) and occasional product updates.
• Review and moderate profiles and posts to keep the community safe.
• Investigate and respond to reports, fraud, and abuse.
• Meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Sharing your information

Your profile, posts, and reviews are visible to other Cuepop users and to anyone visiting public profile pages at cuepop.com. Beyond that, we share information only with:

• Service providers we rely on to run Cuepop — Google (OAuth sign-in), PostgreSQL hosting (currently Railway), and email delivery (Resend). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
• Law enforcement or authorities — when required by law or to protect user safety.
• A successor entity — if Cuepop is acquired, merged, or transferred, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Your rights

You can:

• View and edit your profile at any time from the profile page.
• Close any need you've posted to stop receiving pitches on it.
• Request account deletion — email us at hello@cuepop.com. We’ll delete your account and associated data within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention obligations.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Deleting your account removes your profile, your posts, and your messages. Reviews you wrote about others may remain visible (attributed to “a former user”) so we don’t destroy information other users relied on.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove personal data within a reasonable period except where we’re required to retain it for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

6. Security

We use industry-standard practices — HTTPS everywhere, secure session cookies, hashed credentials via Google OAuth, access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of information transmitted to or from the Service.

7. Children

Cuepop is not intended for users under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email hello@cuepop.com and we’ll delete it.

8. International users

Cuepop is operated from India. If you're using the Service from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India or any other country in which our service providers operate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced via email or an in-app notice.
